$724,999 (price recently cut by $25K)I am a huuuuge fan of Colonial and Greek Revival-style homes. That's why, even though I make it a point to keep our featured "Favorite Home of the Week" at or under the $400K mark, I had to dish up this beauty for your viewing pleasure this week. This is not only because I'm in love with this home--and its twin chimneys, grand columns, and prominent pediment--but also because I'm in love with this neighborhood, which is in Franklin and near to I-65, Murfreesboro Road, and Forrest Crossing Golf Course (a public course with a nice driving range--one of the more affordable courses in Franklin).
This home isn't a true Greek Revival/Colonial, as it was built in 1999 (as opposed to the originals, which went up between 1815-1840). Fun fact: Did you know that the Belle Meade Plantation is generally used as the foremost example of Greek Revival architecture in the States?
ANYWAY, back to THIS HOUSE: It is a very spacious 5,174 square feet and sits on a large lot (1.63 acres). The main floor is especially large at 3,198 sqft while the second floor is 1,976 sqft. There are four bedrooms (three upstairs, one down), four full baths and one half bath, three fireplaces, and a garage. OH AND A BIG SWIMMING POOL. A pool that looks like it's going to be the scene for many a memorable hot weather get-together. There's also a great room with a wet bar that overlooks the pool and patio area.
This home has been very well cared for and has lots of fabulous moulding and built-ins. It could, however, use some updating--the kitchen and master bath in particular. But don't let a little renovation stand between you and a home that's fit for Scarlett and Rhett.
