Last week, the Nashville Coloring Books we helped fund on Kickstarter arrived, via Franklin’s own Made South. I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of the books, and couldn’t be looking forward more to sitting down once we break for Christmas, grabbing some markers and zoning out while literally painting my town red. And probably blue, and green, and yellow, and a few other colors.

Our clients will definitely be getting these as gifts in the coming year, and inside the pages, they’ll recognize a ton of favorite places spanning old Nashville to new Nashville, from Arnold’s to Pinewood Social. Some favorite neighborhoods appear too — like East Nashville, pictured above.

As a nod to a page I’m looking forward to coloring, this week’s Open House roundup looks to the East Side.

First, the bigger Open Houses picture:

Then, my East Nashville picks:

{mls: 1785896}

2817 Noonan Dr

Nashville, TN 37206

$318,000

Fortland Park is a neat, hilly and leafy corner of East Nashville, with lots of well-kept mid-century ranches, hilltop views and easy access to Shelby Park. This 3-bed, 1 1/2-bath home is a nice example of why a lot of first-time East Nashville buyers are gravitating toward that part of the neighborhood — it looks to be in really solid shape, with a mix of updates and original details, and a sizable piece of property. Open 2 to 4 p.m.

{mls: 1785746}

1910 A Sheridan Rd

Nashville, TN 37206

$449,900

New construction abounds in East Nashville, and this 3-bed, 2 1/2-bath home in Porter Heights is a good example of what buyers can expect from most new builds in the neighborhood: open layout, details that echo classic design aesthetics, hardwoods, stone countertops and nice, big masters. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

{mls: 1785831}

1710 Shelby Ave

Nashville, TN 37206

$469,900

Can’t leave East Nashville without fawning over a historic Lockeland Springs bungalow. This one on Shelby is pretty as can be. Lots of updates and lots of personality, plus a really cool fenced yard. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

{mls: 1779014}

2003 Eastside Ave

Nashville, TN 37206

$749,900

Once an up-and-coming Nashville neighborhood, East Nashville’s up-and-come status is more and more clear with luxury new builds like this hitting the market. With almost 3,000 square feet and upscale, high-style finishes throughout — plus a master closet larger than many bedrooms, stacked porches and a five-car garage — this home in Shelby Hills doesn’t let you want for much. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

If you’d like to snag your own Nashville Coloring Book, head to the Made South website to order one for $15.95. (Awesome bonus: $1 from each sale goes to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.)
