by TJ AndersonWe all know by now that the real estate market in Nashville is markedly strong, and has been for a good while now. Broader truth: It’s not just here in Middle Tennessee — all of
East Side Hootenanny A Success
Did you guys make it to the East Side Hootenanny this past weekend? The first week got cancelled, thanks (or no thanks?) to pouring rain, but this week went on as scheduled, and it went off without a hitch. Performers included Plumb, Jacob Jones, The Lonely H, Buffalo Clover, and Los Colognes. And there was beer.
The whole shebang--a free six-week concert series--is to benefit Urban Green Lab, which is all about spreading the sustainability message in Nashville. We're gonna try not to spam you guys too hard in the coming weeks, but we're pretty stoked about this concert series. And not just because we're helping sponsor it. It is just a really cool festival--free! great acts!--and it's just so happening when the weather is the absolute nicest all year. The series runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturdays through June 15 (except June 1) at East Park, 700 Woodland St. And due to the recent cancellation, organizers are in the process of adding an extra date.
"We were very happy with the inaugural event, and look forward to building momentum from week to week," said Chris Thompson, a development consultant with Urban Green Lab. "It's hard to beat the location, the great music, the great food and beer, and the great people."
The next installment of the festival is this Saturday, May 18, with performers including Bonnie Bishop, Goodbye June, el el (with Ben Elkins, formerly of Heypenny), The Jag, and Coin.
