Get Ready For The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere At The Nashville Zombie Outbreak
by TJ Anderson
Since this weekend brings the long-awaited return of The Walking Dead, and the answer to last season’s pulse-quickening mystery (no spoilers), I can’t think of a better way to end the week than stopping by the Nashville Zombie Outbreak at Nashville Airsoft.
Haven’t heard about it? If there’s an easy/clean/safe way in the Middle Tennessee area to explore your inner Michonne and Rick/Daryl and Carol, it certainly looks like the ticket.
Here’s the basic gist: Indoor Airsoft field Nashville Airsoft switches out its usual battle simulation play during the Halloween season to full-on zombie-outbreak mode. Its 30,000-square-foot facility, located on Davidson Street (on the East Nashville side of the river), gets stocked with a live-action undead army, and players grab replica M4 rifles to blast their way through to safety.
Unlike paintball, Airsoft guns aren’t splattering color everywhere when you get taken down, so there’s a bit of an honor code to playing. To be fair, that feels pretty Walking Dead appropriate too.
The Nashville Zombie Outbreak only happens for a few weekends — it kicked off last week, and continues this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, then picks up again October 28 through 31.
Games run 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., and tickets are $22 per person, including your gun, ammo, safety equipment and training, plus a 15-minute session of zombie destruction.
The Walking Dead’s season 7 premiere kicks off at 8 p.m. Central on AMC, Sunday, Oct. 23, so you have plenty of opportunity to get appropriately pumped-up at the Zombie Outbreak beforehand. (Sneak peek of the season opener here.)
To learn more about the Airsoft fun and/or buy tickets, drop by nashvillezombieoutbreak.com. A little video peek at what the NZO battles look like up top.
If you decide to take a break from battling/watching zombies to get started on your Nashville house hunt, I’d love to help you find your own little piece of the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Give me a call or drop me an email, and I’ll start looking!
