MACC Honors National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day With A Shelter Pawty And Waived Fees
by TJ Anderson
Last year, I rescued a new dog, and moved into a new home. Both have made my life significantly more happy, both complement each other.
The house really felt like home once Lucy here, who’s ready for her summer cut, moved in. And my wish list for a new Nashville home specifically included space that suits and fits a fuzzy friend like her. (I'm far from alone in that pursuit.)
Shelter dog adoption is something I’m passionate about, so somewhat regularly, I try to point clients and friends toward the lovable, available dogs at Metro Nashville Animal Control, and offer to sponsor adoptions (or fostering). If you’re moved to adopt, just reach out and let me know about your plans. I’d be thrilled to help.
I also try to share special-occasion events MACC has planned, if you need an extra nudge, like this upcoming weekend’s Shelter Paw-ty, in celebration of National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day.
The event’s set to run Saturday, April 28 through Sunday, April 29, from noon to 4 p.m., with special adoption hours on Sunday. And during those two days, they’re waiving all adoption fees. (For dogs, it’s usually $90.)
The shelter is currently full, so if you’ve been thinking about bringing a new dog into your life, it’s a great time to go by MACC (5125 Harding Place, Nashville, TN 37211) and meet some new friends.
For extra encouragement, I included a few MACC faces below that are looking for their forever homes now:
He’s a 2-year-old Lab/Pit mix that’s super playful, and loves other dogs. Learn more about Hudson here.
Those puppy-dog eyes are tough to resist. Bennett’s a 3-year-old pit mix, and the shelter has a great video of him hangin’ out, up on their Facebook page. Learn more about Bennett here.
Those ears end me. Tyson’s a 2-year-old Lab mix who I’m pretty sure could improve your satellite signal. Learn more about Tyson here.
JAR JAR BINKS (A143550)
Need some puppy energy in your life? Don’t let the name give you the cringes — Jar Jar, a 1-year-old Lab, maybe looks a little like his namesake, but he’s definitely more of a Chewie. Learn more about Jar Jar Binks here.
I have a special place in my heart for senior dogs, and 13-year-old Catahoula Leopard Hound mix Blue definitely grabs it. Learn more about Blue here.
Young Jill is about a year old, and with a mix of Boxer and Lab, she’s bound to be an awesome family friend and a great guard dog, too. Learn more about Jill here.
Hope to hear that some of you had a chance to grow your family this weekend. If you can’t make it now, and plan to head to MACC in the future, please let me know. My offer to sponsor your adoption always stands.
And if I can help you with anything real estate-related in the Nashville area, that offer always stands too. Call or email TJ Anderson Homes.
