I do this post pretty much every year as summer is rolling in, for obvious reasons: By July/August in Middle Tennessee, we’ll all be braising in the Southern heat, at least most of the time, and aside of a quality HVAC, the best at-home way to beat the heat is with a cool pool. So this week’s Open House roundup is going to focus on a few homes with a backyard oasis.

There’s a good list of options on the market the Nashville area right now, but not many are hosting Open Houses this weekend. So if the picks below don’t catch your eye, let me know — I can hunt down others that fit your needs.

First, the bigger picture:

Then, some pools to drool over:

508 Lexington Dr

Lebanon, TN 37087

This one's a well-kept family home with a sizable footprint, a large kitchen and vaulted great-room ceilings. The best attribute for sure, though: that pool area, made extra private with high-reaching arborvitaes. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

9319 Lake Shore Drive

Brentwood, TN 37027

This spacious Brentwood home’s bound to bring a big family a big degree of happy. It was built in the ‘80s, but definitely doesn’t show its age, and inside its 4500-plus square feet, it has some really great bonuses — like a killer media room in the finished basement. Outside, there’s what's pictured above. Open Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m.

2441 Berrys Chapel Rd N

Franklin, TN 37069

Phenomenal outdoor fun in Franklin, here, from the tennis court to the hot tub and crystal-blue pool. Lots of privacy when you’re lounging out there, too, with more than 4 acres. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

1201 Carl Seyfert Memorial Dr

Brentwood, TN 37027

This is a fairly massive estate in Brentwood, at more than 7500 square feet, and with more than 1.6 acres of property. New owners might want to update some of the ‘90s finishes in that space, but one area I’m almost certain you won’t want to touch: the meticulously landscaped yard, with that gorgeous pool and guest house. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
