Open Houses And A Spotlight On Hip Donelson

Earlier this week, the city’s daily heaped praise on a neighborhood that might surprise the longtime Nashvillians who haven’t had their minds trained on emerging Middle Tennessee neighborhoods. In a story headlined "'Hip' Donelson' among Nashville's most desirable suburbs,”The Tennessean noted the rise of the family-friendly corner of Middle Tennessee.

Donelson has become so popular that home buyers, many of them young families…, are engaging in bidding wars when houses come on the market,” the story says.

I’ve been talking up Donelson for a minute now — it might’ve been somewhat overlooked in the past, but more and more home buyers are definitely recognizing its charm lately.

Why the growing Donelson love? Well, the area has a lot to offer, from the old (lots of cute mid-century ranches that appeal to fans of Mad Men-era style) to the new (the growing Hip Donelson Farmers Market, one of Nashville’s best places to grab farm-fresh food during the warmer months). There’s also the easy access to the Interstates, the proximity to Opry Mills mall and the Grand Ole Opry House, and the benefits for water lovers, with fishing/boating/etc. on Percy Priest Lake from Elm Hill Marina (which also has a cool floating patio/deck restaurant called Shipwreck Cove).
