Open Houses For The New Years Weekend Househunters
by TJ Anderson
This weekend, we welcome a New Year, and probably for more than a few of us, do so while nursing a cocktail flu. Since celebrating New Year’s Eve is front of mind for many here in Nashville (and everywhere else around the world), this weekend’s Open House landscape is a bit sparse.
If you’re looking to jump right in to househunting in 2017, though, you’re not out of luck — there are some cool options welcoming you in throughout Middle Tennessee.
For this week’s Open House roundup, I don’t have any particular spotlight. I just thought these were some of the coolest listings of a small-but-mighty lot.
First, the broader picture:
Then, my picks:
121 Princess Cir
Franklin, TN 37064
I was just writing about how farmhouse style is still expected to be strong in 2017, and this brand new Franklin home definitely has contemporary farmhouse appeal, right from the curb. Inside, it’s upscale and classic throughout, with lots of great wall and ceiling detail, and a true beauty of a gourmet kitchen. Open Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.
320 Windhaven Bay Lot 32
Mount Juliet, TN 37122
The Sunset Harbour community in Mount Juliet touts itself as “lakeside luxury,” and it delivers. This nearly 4400-square-foot family home is right near Old Hickory Lake, and doesn’t skimp, with warm hardwoods, granite — all the key stuff, plus an open main floor that gives off a lot of grandeur. Open Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., and Monday, Jan. 2, noon to 5.
114 Pearl St, Lot #141
Franklin, TN 37064
So many planned communities in the area have aimed for the small-town charm of yesteryear, but I think few achieved it quite as thoroughly as Westhaven in Franklin — there’s a Mayberry warmth that’s hard to deny, and this cute place is a perfect example. It’s on one of the nicest streets in the area, has a private patio, two-car garage and great loft bonus space, plus that unmistakable historic-throwback aesthetic. Open Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4:30 p.m.
367 Circuit Road
Franklin, TN 37064
This new Franklin home nods to an architecture style that I (and many other home-design nuts) really love: the classic foursquare. Since it’s a new build, you have all the details modern buyers ask for, like an open layout, big closets, luxurious master, custom tile work, stone countertops, et al. This particular location is an extra bonus for househunters who want privacy: There are wooded common areas to the side and rear of the home. Open Saturday, 2 to 3 p.m.
7100 Dale Ridge Rd E-5
Lancaster, TN 38569
I could stand starting out 2017 by having my morning coffee with that view in the distance. This penthouse condo overlooks Center Hill Lake, and has lots of cool details, like a spiral staircase leading up to a loft. But man, the wall of windows opening up to that million-dollar view? That's a happy New Year indeed. Open Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Whatever your weekend plans happen to be, I want to wish you and yours a happy New Year. If your 2017 plans include buying or selling a home (or both), I hope you’ll reach out — I’d love to help you make your New Year visions a reality.
