The Huffington Post ran a piece last month outlining the most popular home styles in America, and a fun thing about it: In Middle Tennessee, you really can find any and all of the styles you might be drawn toward, from ranches to Mediterranean homes.

Every week, I point toward the weekend’s Open Houses in the area, and this week, I wanted to spotlight that mix of styles in our area. First things first:

And here's a mix of different styles hosting Open Houses in the area too:

Craftsman Style

{mls: 1606852}

2416A Abbott Martin Rd.

Nashville, TN

At first look, a classic Craftsman mix of stone and wood in Green Hills; as we move inside, beautiful handiwork that extends from a living space-anchoring stone fireplace to a designer kitchen. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Ranch Style

{mls: 1599126}

1012 Davidson Rd.

Nashville, TN

If you prefer your mid-century ranches untouched, this one might not be for you, as it’s totally renovated. But if you want ranch bones updated with modern touches, take a look — 3 beds, 3 baths, a beautifully appointed open kitchen and living area and a seriously breathtaking master bath. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Cottage Style

{mls: 1587039}

461 Wiregrass Ln.

Franklin, TN

Cottages tend to be cozy, and this one in Westhaven busts out the seams on that a little — it has lots of space, with 4 beds, 3 baths and 2,742 square feet. But it also has ample cottage touchstones, from that rocking chair front porch to design touches that evoke the early part of the last century (though here, with all modern amenities). Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Modern Style

{mls: 1605453}

1021 Horseshoe Dr.

Nashville, TN

Not your dictionary definition of a modern-style home, but a truly unique collection of modern inspiration in Inglewood. The home’s beyond-cool facade is just a start — the cool factor extends throughout, from the sleek kitchen and stair rails through to modern bath fixtures, back through to the multi-tiered back deck. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Southern Style

{mls: 1605900}

919B Delmas Ave.

Nashville, TN

You’ll see a lot of modern touches in this newer Inglewood home, but those covered porches: fantastic Southern style. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Are any of these the style you’re looking for? More drawn toward traditional or Mediterranean homes? If you want help tracking your dream home down, drop me a line — I’d love to find it for you.
