Lately I’ve been feeling inspired by darker paint colors when it comes to home exteriors in Nashville. Apparently I’m in good company — Apartment Therapy says all-black and black/white trim exteriors have been on the rise in 2017, in a big way.

Another 2017 exterior paint color trend they’re falling for at Apartment Therapy: all white.

I’m with them there too — it can come with a little extra maintenance, going all light and white on your Nashville home’s exterior — but it’ll also look classic, clean and striking, and the choice can look incredible whether you’re working with a ‘50s ranch or a tall, modern build.

For this week’s Open House roundup, I picked out some different properties on the market in the Nashville area that work a wonderful all-white exterior palette.

First, the broader options:

Then, a few picks:

{mls: 1875244}

3506 Mcgavock Pike

Nashville, TN 37217

$290,000

A cool, renovated 1955 ranch near the airport, this one has stylish finishes throughout, and a great bonus: almost a full acre of land. Open Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

315 Morton Ave

Nashville, TN 37211

$399,000

This 1948 cottage in Woodbine is a really well-done renovation project — exposed brick, stunning white oak hardwoods, beautiful, classic tile choices… some fun landscaping to accentuate that porch, and it’d be a showstopper inside and out. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

418 B 37Th Ave N

Nashville, TN 37209

$540,000

If you’re in the market for striking city views and modern architecture, Sylvan Summit’s a good place to look — the area’s stocked with new homes like this one, full of sleek lines and perched overlooking Nashville. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

{mls: 1875085}

1810 A Warfield Dr

Nashville, TN 37215

$719,900

Nearly-new construction in Green Hills that’s a five-minute walk to the Hill Center, this home’s crisp, white palette looks clean and elegant. Open Sunay, 2 to 4 p.m.

{mls: 1874964}

6429 Bresslyn Rd

Nashville, TN 37205

$734,900

Painted brick isn’t everyone’s thing, but I think this midcentury West Meade Farms ranch shows just how cool it can look — this renovated home feels fresh and current, but the top-to-bottom updates were made to emphasize the style-forward modern aesthetics of that moment in time. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
