Urban Luxury Home of the Day: Historic in Lockeland Springs
1108 Forrest Avenue, Nashville, TN, 37206
Whatever you do, please make sure you click through the photos of this East Nashville home (built in 1900) and stop to moon over the photos of the kitchen. It is a total wow kitchen, no doubt the centerpiece of this 2,800-square-foot Lockeland Springs knockout. First off, the kitchen holds a gleaming black La Cornue CornuFe 100 stove, which is an almost $9K French oven for those not in the know (I wasn't. Had to look it up, and now am thoroughly wowed. This number comes with two electric convection ovens--one of which is a seven mode multifunction oven--five powerful gas burners, and one large storage drawer.) But, moving on from the oven, the kitchen is also decked out with a breakfast nook, a gorgeous tile floor and backsplash, marble countertops and a marble-topped island plus bright white cabinets and a wine refrigerator.
These sorts of details continue throughout the home, which is filled with beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, original doors, and loads of architectural detail, including stained glass door transoms, fireplaces, and a clawfoot tub. There's also a huge screened-in deck, and a detached 2-car garage behind the house. The yard is fenced.
