Ascend Amphitheater soon won’t be our area’s only new outdoor entertainment hub — Nashville Business Journal just shared news about Graystone Quarry Amphitheater, set for Thompson's Station in Williamson County in 2017.

According to the Journal, Graystone Quarry’s 76-acre site will host meetings, weddings and eventually concerts, with a 5,000-seat amphitheater. It’ll apparently also be pretty cool looking, with the design playing off its history as a rock quarry.

From the news release: “The property will have a Tennessee barn meets mountain lodge inspired architecture reflecting the warm woods and stones present in the surrounding environment with state of the art event lighting, video and sound. All architecture is designed to utilize the property's own native rock and wood to provide a natural transition from indoor to outdoor spaces including slide-away glass. The larger main building opens to a stone courtyard opening to a 1.5 acre quarry lake surrounded by 20 foot cliffs, waterfall and outdoor fireplace. The smaller building opens to a grass-covered courtyard overlooking the woods and distant hillside.”

Something to look forward to for sure, current and future Williamson County dwellers.

Given that fun news, seemed logical to focus this week’s Open Houses roundup on Graystone Quarry Amphitheater’s soon-to-be new home.

First, the counties-wide look at the week’s Open Houses:
