Earlier this year, I wrote a little about why I was feeling inspired by the Salemtown/Germantown area just north of downtown Nashville

That much hasn’t changed half a year later — I’m still seeing lots of eye-grabbing new construction and inspiring renovations in a historic area that’s rising steadily, year after year.

In particular, as I was looking through this week’s crop of Open Houses, it was homes in that area that really caught my eye. So this week’s roundup looks in that direction.

First, the bigger picture:

And then, my picks.

1814 6Th Ave. N.

Nashville, TN 37208

$564,750

I love the bold exterior color choices on this Victorian-style newer home — that and the cool detail above the second-story balcony give off the feel of a historic, Gingerbread home. Inside, it’s all upscale finishes and open vibes. But the topper, really, is the huge roofdeck that adds awesome entertaining space. You see a fair number of those in Salemtown and Germantown, which is definitely a part of why I like the area so much. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

1819 6th Avenue North

Nashville, TN 37208

$569,900

One of the many benefits of owning a home in a vibrant, central neighborhood like Salemtown/Germantown: It’s prized by short-term renters, which apparently benefited the current owners, who made it a regular Airbnb space. Visitors’ gorgeous getaway could be your every-day home, though — it’s open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

604 A Hume St.

Nashville, TN 37208

$699,000

Modern design in a historic neighborhood — this property is spacious, at more than 2,800 feet, and is sleek and bright throughout. Again, the roof deck brings the wow factor, with a killer view of downtown, outdoor fireplace and wet bar. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Feeling drawn toward Salemtown/Germantown? Chewing on a mix of Nashville neighborhoods and need help exploring? I’d love to track down the perfect space in the perfect place for you — reach out and tell me about what you need.
