A Peek Inside Spectacularly Tall Nashville High Rise 505 Nashville

This week, we got a virtual look inside developer Tony Giarratana’s 505 Nashville — a 45-story apartment building that, when finished, is set to be the tallest residential building in the state.
Designed to include 550 apartments, 505 will climb a full 524 feet in the air at Church Street and Fifth Avenue North. And judging by the video above, these homes are set up to let you take advantage of the location and height, with walls of windows in rooms with 10-foot ceilings that bring the downtown skyline inside.
Construction’s been under way for a good while, but it’ll be a minute before people are moving in to these spaces — estimates I’ve seen put completion between 2017 and 2018.
So for this week’s Open Houses roundup, I can’t exactly spotlight properties in that building. I can, however, pick out some places that I think will please homeowners who are drawn to that kind of urban-centric living — condos in busy, walkable locations, with lots of amenities and, in some cases, a view that wows.

The Lofts on Eighth are on the lower-rise/lower-density front, with 32-units over four floors, so if you like the idea of a cozier condo community, it might be a better bet than something like the massive 505. You’re on the literal ground floor with this 1-bed, 1-bath unit, but since you’re not walled in by buildings, it’s still really bright and sunny. The location in the Waverly-Belmont area is fantastic for busy doers and goers — you’re a quick hop from 12 South, The Gulch and Melrose, so you’ll have a hard time running out of places to be. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
301 Demonbreun St Unit 817
Nashville, TN 37201
If you’re looking to be close to live music, it’s hard to beat The Encore’s location — nearly sitting on top of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, about two blocks from Ascend Amphitheater, a few more from Bridgestone Arena and Ryman Auditorium… you’ll scarcely need to set foot in a car to keep yourself entertained. At 20 stories, the building is plenty tall, even if 505 will seriously dwarf it, and this 1-bed, 1-bath unit offers great city views and a perch above the roof-deck pool. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
1803 Broadway Apt 202
Nashville, TN 37203
The Bristol on Broadway is a mid-rise building, with 171 units over six stories, and this 2-bed, 2-bath unit is on a lower floor, so you’re not getting that skyline perch. You are getting a super convenient location — walkable to Vanderbilt and lots of Midtown food/nightlife — and a less modern, more community-oriented aesthetic. The leafy central courtyard gives off a little bit of a French pied-à-terre vibe, too. Open Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
3210 Long Blvd #302
Nashville, TN 37203
This one’s a low-rise, really, but it still offers quite the perch, with floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces that let you look out over the West End area. With these Mezzo Lofts, you’re trading high-rise for super high-end finishes — Viking appliances and marble and other bits of serious luxury. That roof deck might not be 500 feet in the air, but from where I’m standing, that view is nothing to look down on. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
