Nashville Househunting And Touring In Historic Belmont Hillsboro
by TJ Anderson
The historic neighborhoods in Nashville tend to be proud and tight-knit, and I love that — feeling inspired to celebrate the place you call home, its history and its future, that comes out of finding a happy place and buying a piece of it. I think that’s something we all strive for, and definitely what I strive for as a Realtor, househunting with my clients.
A good example: Saturday, Oct. 1 brings the 20th installment of the Historic Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood’s Home Tour, during which proud homeowners invite neighbors and visitors into their homes, to foster community and offer up some good old-fashioned home ogling.
In southwest Nashville, Belmont-Hillsboro is conveniently located — close to downtown, right down the way from Hillsboro Village, a skip from 12 South — and its historic charm is front and center. Early 20th century foursquares and bungalows sit up and down their streets, mixed in with newer homes that (smartly, I think) often echo that timeless architectural aesthetic.
At the Home Tour, 11 different homes will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for visits — you’ll just need to grab tickets ($10 for adults, free for children under 12). Proceeds will benefit the work the Belmont-Hillsboro Neighbors organization does for the community, which has included community projects, scholarship foundations and more.
While we look forward to the tour, I’m focusing this week’s Open Houses roundup on Belmont-Hillsboro.

Then, a few picks, open this weekend:
2600 Hillsboro Pike Apt 324
Nashville, TN 37212
Who’s looking to gaze at lush and lovely landscaping without having to take care of it? This unit in The Enclave, just skimming the edge of the Belmont-Hillsboro map, has a courtyard view, plus access to the community’s many other amenities — fitness space, club room, outdoor entertaining space and more. It’s spacious for a 1-bed, 1-bath, at 1115 square feet, and comes with a 1-car garage for parking and storage. The design is elegant and traditional, and you’re already set with a wine fridge, too. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
3014 Brightwood Ave
Nashville, TN 37212
You’d be forgiven at first glance for thinking this 4-bed, 3 1/2-bath home was among the Belmont-Hillsboro area’s prized historic properties. It was built in 2006, but exterior to interior, it fits in with the historic treasures in that area just fine — only you have the benefit of huge closets. Coffered ceilings and other cool woodwork, a huge but farmhouse-cozy kitchen, massive master and more all make this home majorly appealing, as does the opportunity to walk right over to Sevier Park. Click through to the stunning screened-in porch and paver patio too. The autumn entertaining possibilities are a pumpkin-spicy thrill. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
Are you focusing your Nashville house hunt on the Belmont-Hillsboro area? Please let me know if I can help you track down that dream home, and make it yours.
