Up above, you can see the finishing touches that have gone on our red schoolhouse at 2510 Foster Avenue in Woodbine — the weather’s finally cooperating, so some beautiful landscaping’s gone in, and we’re just about ready to invite people in to explore this labor of love. I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out, inside and out. We’ve got classic finishes, custom details and that big, bold color to welcome you in.

We’re not hosting an Open House on Foster this weekend, but since I’m sitting here beaming with pride about the landscaping detail, I decided to share some Nashville-area Open Houses that hit the mark on that front: getting that green, growing welcome just right.

First, here’s the big Open Houses picture:

And my picks:

115 Verde Meadow Dr

Franklin, TN 37067

This Franklin home in the Village of Clovercroft is really inviting inside, with warm wood tones and cozy colors. A really cool bonus space too. Front and back, they put meticulous detail into the landscape design, and it really makes the curb appeal pop. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

1310 Grandview Dr

Nashville, TN 37215

They went full storybook on the exterior of this historic Green Hills cottage, built in 1947 — between the dynamic red door and the artful landscaping, there’s no way I’d resist heading inside to see more. Inside, it’s completely renovated, and neat as can be. Open Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

1441 Westhaven Blvd

Franklin, TN 37064

Westhaven is a sweet Mayberry nestled in Franklin — lots of my clients with growing families are drawn to that community, and it’s easy to see why. This newer home, built in 2013, is spacious, with more than 4500 square feet, 5 bedrooms and 6 baths, and it’s elegant and upscale, from the large kitchen to the stunning sunroom. The outdoor kitchen is a big plus on the exterior front, but I think the manicured landscaping out front is the shining star. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

5124 Walnut Park Dr

Brentwood, TN 37027

Yes, with a million-plus-dollar home in Brentwood, you expect all the details to be in place, including the grounds. But it’s still worth celebrating when someone goes above and beyond, like at this large estate, on more than an acre of property. The walk up to this almost 6500-square-foot home couldn’t be more breathtaking, from the elegant lighting to that visage-anchoring fountain with surrounding shrubbery, and that carries through inside, particularly in the two-story living area. The cinema space, billiards room, covered balcony and wine bar aren’t too shabby either. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
