Rise In Franklin Home Prices Is Outpacing Nashville And Other Nearby Cities

This new piece in The Tennessean probably came as no surprise to anyone who’s been searching for a new home in Williamson County: “Franklin home prices outpace neighboring cities” notes that, over the past year, homes in that much-desired city have jumped up 12.6 percent in price, well above Nashville (10.4 percent) and almost double that of rapidly rising Murfreesboro.
As of July 2017, the median home price in Franklin was $516,223. And the “starter home” price range now, the story points out, is $300,000 to $350,000.
Franklin residents (and homebuyers looking to move there) understand the impetus behind the growth well. Add high-rated schools, a vibrant downtown with a lauded dining scene and a busy job market together, throw in a mix of beautiful new-construction homes and stunning historic structures, and you have a serious quality of living, and major appeal.
So, yes, it can be tough to find a Franklin home on a tight budget, if you’re just starting out. But it’s not impossible, and I love a challenge.

The Shadow Green community has some great amenities (like a dog park and walking trails) and classic row-house charm, just down the way from downtown too. This particular home is nearly new, built in 2014, and has high-end finishes throughout its 1674 square feet — hardwoods, granite, stainless steel, etc. You sacrifice on property size, but that comes with the benefit of maintenance-free living.

Prefer to have a little bit of property to call your own? This updated home in Franklin has a fenced-in yard with space for your dogs to roam, and a spacious deck for outdoor entertaining. Westhaven is one of my favorite Franklin communities — the tight-knit community feel and old-South charm make it a spectacular place for families to set roots and grow. At the “starter” budget, you’re most likely looking at a townhome or condo, but you have great options, like this brand-new 2-bed, 2-bath, thoroughly upscale Charleston II unit.
