Ah, we love when we stumble across these homes that double as time capsules! They may not have all the modern amenities, but what they lack there they make up for with blast-from-the-past uncanny authenticity.
We don't see too many time capsules in Nashville, but this one in Donelson Hills appears to have belonged to someone in the music industry, as the listing dubs it "the house that music built." (If anyone knows who lives/lived here, please tell us in the comments, as we're curious.)
This home has many of the midcentury details in tact from its build date in 1960, plus a view that can't be beat--right on the Cumberland River, across the way from Shelby Bottoms Park, with views of downtown Nashville, on 2.2 acres of land. If you were to own this place, you could soak up all of this from the privacy of your in-ground pool.
There are five bedrooms and six bathrooms in this home, spread over 5,044 feet. The enormous master bedroom and bathroom suite is particularly notable, with its wall-to-wall white carpeting and retro (working) fireplace.
The white carpet extends throughout the Boogie Nights-esque brick home, which is architecturally striking from the exterior as well as notable for its interior. Included in the facade is a two-car covered patio.
What do you think? Could you live here? Or would you feel too disoriented--what decade are we in again?
