Belatedly Celebrate Log Cabin Day With These Nashville Area Cabins
by TJ Anderson
So, apparently Sunday was Log Cabin Day… who knew?
Although I technically missed the opportunity to celebrate on the correct date, I’ll go ahead and give myself permission to do so today, since I’m happy to take any excuse to shine a spotlight on that cozy, personality-filled brand of property.
I’m sure it doesn’t surprise you that cute log cabins are easy to find in the more rural areas of Middle Tennessee. But maybe a little less obvious is the fact that you can often find historic log cabins right here in the middle of Nashville, too.
I looked around the listings and found a few log cabins in and near Nashville that I felt were worth of celebration on this post-Log Cabin Day. Take a look:
Nashville-area Log Cabins for Log Cabin Day 2016
900 Shoreside Dr
Smithville, TN 37166
Got something set aside for a vacation property? This 3-bed, 2-bath, nearly 2000-square-foot cabin in Smithville has a good amount of space and lots of style (the wall of windows in particular), plus the midpoint of privacy/manageable upkeep that comes with about an acre of property.
8551 Cub Creek Road
Nashville, TN 37209
Lots of log-cabin charm — warm wood and stone, vaulted ceilings — and just enough nature, with about 3 acres, but just 15 or so miles from downtown Nashville.
10465 Jw Jordan Rd
Lascassas, TN 37085
The classic log cabin looks — big beams, stone fireplace in the open living area — extend from the main house here to the horse barn, here in Lascassas.
809 Lakeview Cir
Mount Juliet, TN 37122
Love log cabin style but prefer not to be too far flung? This one’s right in Mount Juliet, and offers Old Hickory Lake views from just about every room in the home.
585 Glover Hollow Ln
Dixon Springs, TN 37057
This Dixon Springs listing comes with a massive amount of property — almost 60 acres. But it also offers a massive amount of sleeping space. Eager to have family/guests come out and enjoy the log cabin experience with you? There are five additional cozy sleeping cabins on the property, so folks can have their own space. Double bonus: full bar setup.
420 Mount Vernon Rd
Bethpage, TN 37022
Looking for a ton of interior space? This one in Bethpage has 8 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths and more than 6200 square feet, so if you have a large family or a lot of regular guests, you’re set up well. Built in 1978, the home is up to date but still super country-cozy. The barn is something special, too.
4812 Granny White Pike
Nashville, TN 37220
A historic log cabin home, built in 1952, right in highly desired Oak Hill — this property still has some of its mid-century touchstones, from fixtures to tile. Take a look at the kitchen if you really like ‘50s design.
407 Westview Avenue
Nashville, TN 37205
Nestled in upscale Belle Meade, this 3200-plus-square-foot cabin, built in 1929, has a share of high-end upgrades, but those hewn cedar logs are pure historic beauty.
6723 Cool Springs Rd
Thompsons Station, TN 37179
Another beautiful log home with a huge property: This one has 50-plus acres in Thompsons Station, and it couldn’t be more picturesque. Love the texture of the hewn wood throughout, though the property really is the star, with full-circle views of the gorgeous hilly landscape.
