Bridgestone Arena Was The Fourth Busiest Venue In The United States In 2017
by TJ Anderson
With more than 714,000 attendees in 2017, Nashville’s own Bridgestone Arena was knocking at the Top 10 in the list of the world’s busiest venues, hitting No. 12, according to Pollstar.
For the United States, the Arena sat at No. 4 — no small accomplishment for a city that hovers around 25 on the list of America’s biggest cities.
Any Nashvillian (or any American who hasn’t been living in a bunker) probably has little trouble pointing to the big driver for 2017’s success: Our nearly Stanley Cup-clinching Nashville Predators, and the absolutely massive outpouring of love from local fans. During the Stanley Cup finals here at home, crowds in the mega-thousands packed Bridgestone and Broadway for block after block. It was big fun, and a big boost for Bridgestone.
With the Predators showing their trademark teeth for the 2017-18 season too, chances we’ll beat Bridgestone’s 2017 numbers feel pretty good.
Live within blocks of Bridgestone Arena
If being right on top of all that energy is how you’d love to live in Nashville, below, I picked out a few homes on the market now that’ll put you within blocks of the arena. Which means during hockey season (and probably on May/June/July nights when Justin Timberlake, U2, Harry Styles and Sam Smith come to Nashville), your place’ll easily be the pre-game perch of choice.

Among the many, many new high-rises in downtown Nashville, you’ll find the historic Bennie Dillon building, built in the mid-‘20s and touted as one of the city’s oldest skyscrapers. Units like this 1-bed, 1-bath home offer a mix of modern updates and original details (like the terrazzo floors, back in a big way right now). For busy show/game-goers, the location’s top-notch, blocks from Broadway, the Ryman, TPAC and on and on.
239 5Th Ave N., Apt. 405
Nashville, TN 37219
For the loft lovers: This 2-bed, 2-bath unit in the Kress Lofts building downtown has the key industrial-loft touches — high ceilings, exposed ductwork, concrete floors, big windows… And for Preds games, you’re a straight three-block walk to the Arena.
301 Demonbreun St., Unit 1020
Nashville, TN 37201
Drawn to newer, sleeker confines? The Encore came up during the beginning of this particular Nashville building boom, in 2008, and its units — like this 2-bed, 2-bath listing — tend to be crisp, modern and open. Shows at Ascend Amphitheater and Bridgestone are a particular breeze from this location; it sits kind of equidistant between the two.
180 9th Ave North, #501
Nashville, TN 37203
Another historic building that’s been reimagined, the original Bell South HQ is now The Westview, filled with luxury condos like this one. The 3-bed, 3-bath, 2572-square-foot unit has traditional decor throughout, a beautiful balcony that’ll let you look out over Nashville’s most iconic landmarks, and a location that puts you about four blocks from Bridgestone.
Is your Nashville dream-home right downtown? Prefer to be in calmer confines, a little further away from the excitement? Whatever you’re looking for, I’d love to help you find it — call or email TJ Anderson Homes here.
