Golf Communities In The Nashville Area

We’ve entered my favorite week of the year: Masters Week, when some of the best golfers in the world converge at one of our country’s most beautiful courses, Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

I’ll be glued to The Masters Thursday through Sunday, until the green jacket is claimed. And I know I’m in good company, locally — Nashville has long been a pretty fantastic golf area, and it’s only getting better, with new world-class courses being built and, as of 2016, our own PGA Tour stop, The Nashville Golf Open (this year’s is June 29 through July 2).

If you're a fellow golf obsessive, and you happen to be looking for a new home in the Nashville area, more good news: Impressive golf communities, both in terms of homes and community courses, are fairly plentiful here, and only getting more so.

Not familiar with the array of golf-course communities in the Nashville area? Here are just a few that are well worth looking at, with homes on the market now.

The Governors Club, Brentwood, Tennessee

{mls: 1812644}

7 Innisbrook Ln

Brentwood, TN 37027

The Governors Club’s private 18-hole, Arnold Palmer Signature course is on 200 acres of scenic, soft-hilly Brentwood beauty. This nearly 4000-square-foot home overlooks the sixth green there, and the views are perfectly picturesque.

Foxland Harbor, Gallatin, Tennessee

{mls: 1806843}

937 Vinings Blvd #1431

Gallatin, TN 37066

If you’re looking for lakefront life and golf-course life, Foxland Harbor in Gallatin, about 25 miles northeast of Nashville, might hit your sweet spot. The community is right on the shoreline of Old Hickory Lake, and the golf course has earned steady applause from players and the industry — Golfweek selected it as one the Top 10 New Courses back in 2008, and it’s only gotten better from there. The community offers lots of options as far as homes, from townhomes to new single family builds. This in-construction home — with 4 beds, 4 baths and almost 3500 square feet of space — gives you course views from double back porches.

Fairvue Plantation, Gallatin, Tennessee

{mls: 1810380}

1184 Potter Lane

Gallatin, TN 37066

Another Sumner County option to explore, with a tournament-standards, 7,116-yard, par-72 course. A few fun details worth noting: Fairvue Plantation also has excellent options for focusing in and improving your game, including a short game complex and large driving range. Homes there are mostly high-end, some with great views of the course — like this Arthur Rutenberg Homes model on the market now, that puts you near the 17th fairway. If you’re a oenophile in addition to being a golfer, check out the built-in wine bar.

Five Oaks, Lebanon, Tennessee

{mls: 1806400}

179 Village Circle

Lebanon, TN 37087

About 30 minutes from Nashville, Five Oaks in Lebanon puts you right amid the picturesque, 500-plus-acre Five Oaks Golf and Country Club. Enjoy views? The clubhouse there perches you up for a sprawling view of Wilson County and beyond. And living there is doable at a budget that’s modest for most golf communities — like this brand new luxury townhouse in The Village Of Five Oaks, with course views from the covered porch, listed at just under $360K.

Hideaway at Arrington, College Grove, Tennessee

{mls: 1775133}

7026 Lanceleaf Drive

College Grove, TN 37046

I’ve gone on at length about my love for the Hideaway at Arrington, so I’ll sum up here: The private, 18-hole course is world-class, with pristine natural surroundings and expert design. To say I love playing there is a massive understatement. Lots of the upscale homes in this community wow me too, including Villa Blanca here, with stylish elegance over every inch. I could happily live in just the laundry room.

The Reserve at Temple Hills, Franklin, Tennessee

{mls: 1806356}

6686 Hastings Ln

Franklin, TN 37069

A potential side benefit to living in The Reserve at Temple Hills in Franklin, if you travel a lot: The Temple Hills Country Club is part of ClubCorp, which owns/operates hundreds of clubs across the country. So as a member here, you not only have access to Temple Hills’ three 9-hole courses and mix of amenities, but access/special offerings at other ClubCorp spots. New homes are busily emerging here too, including this one, which is stocked with luxury-farmhouse style.

Let me know if you’re in the market for a new home in Middle Tennessee, and would like to explore some golf community options, or homes that are close to other great Nashville-area courses. I’d be thrilled to give you an overview of what’s out there; just call or email TJ Anderson Homes.
