917 Overton Lea Road, Nashville, TN 37220, $2,240,000

Another of the houses that appears in the hit TV series Nashville is for sale! This one--which is the definition of swanky and modern--belongs on the small screen to country singer Juliette Barnes, played by Hayden Panettiere. And that's not the only thing that's fascinating about this Music City property. Located on Overton Lea Road (near Tyne Boulevard and Franklin Pike) in Oak Hill, the home is the work of famous and prolific L.A. architect Stephen Kanner, who died of cancer in 2010 at age 54, two years after 917 Overton Lea Road was erected. The Kanner Architecture website refers to this structure as The Nashville House and describes the project as such:

Nashville House is a rare, if recently increasingly accepted commodity in a city with a history of traditional architecture. The owner sought a design that would conflict with the context of its wooded site and asked for a sculpture in the landscape. What she got is a white plaster form brought into context with the use of wood panel cladding. Because it is on a steeply sloping site, the house, in reality, is a vertical structure. Through strategic programming, cantilevering the top two living levels over the lower two levels (a home theater and garage), and the introduction of a porte-cochere to direct visitors up the slope and drop them among the two main levels of the house, the design has the effect of a lean horizontal structure.

Sitting on nearly three acres of land that provide some gorgeous views of downtown Nashville through an entirely glass wall, this 5,325-square-foot home has the master bedroom on the upper level. There, too, is a second bedroom and a library. The master bedroom overlooks the living room below. All told, the house includes 4 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Aaaaaaand there's an infinity edge pool, floating staircase, and elevator. And though this house is ruled by it sleek, modern simplicity and clean lines, it's not without its fanciful quirks. See, for example, the upstairs master bath, which has a faucet that fills the spa tub from the ceiling so that water cascades down like a waterfall. And in the office there's what appears to be a wall-mounted sculpture, but is actually a drawer bank that includes 32 wood-laminated drawers for your organizing ecstasy.
