According to a new Nashville Business Journal report, the stunning almost-new Green Hills home pictured above is about to have a new owner: Nashville Predators defenseman Mattias Ekholm.

It comes as no surprise that an exceptional athlete on an exceptional team would have excellent taste in Nashville real estate. The stately home, built in 2015, has lots of space and lots of style over nearly 5000 square feet. Inside: a light and bright palette throughout, with heavy beams to bring in interest and warmth and ample amounts of millwork to bring extra life to the walls. Outside: an utterly stunning covered patio (replete with outdoor kitchen that’d put many indoor Nashville kitchens to shame), a crystal-blue salt-water pool and hot tub and, for that bustling part of Green Hills, lots of privacy.

The Business Journal says this makes a second Nashville home for the Preds player, too — the other's a Gulch condo.

Heart captured by that Green Hills beauty? You might’ve lost it to Ekholm, but there are plenty of other homes on the market in Nashville that offer a similarly luxurious mix of classic aesthetics and modern amenities. Below, a few from the MLS that I think would let you live as large (and stylishly) as Mattias Ekholm.

1134 Glenwood Ave

Nashville, TN 37204

$1,425,000

In the same general Green Hills vicinity, but with upscale Hacienda flair, this brand new home has loads of outdoor entertaining space — including a rooftop deck with an outdoor kitchen.

3910 Abbott Martin Rd

Nashville, TN 37215

$1,099,900

I mentioned this one in my weekend Open House roundup, but it happens to fit here too, with its similar modern-Tudor architecture, light palette and high-style wall detail.

3513 Ruland Pl

Nashville, TN 37215

$1,025,000

More new construction in Green Hills, similarly open, bright and elegant. The covered patio with built-in fireplace is a favorite detail here — looks like the perfect place to entertain, year-round.

{mls: 1881132}

525 W Hillwood Dr

Nashville, TN 37205

$1,375,000

Out in West Meade/Hillwood, this home has all the clean style and elegance, the warm beams, the ample space, the pool… Big added bonus, though, if you like to have a little room between you and your neighbors: well over an acre of property.

{mls: 1884431}

2606 Barton Ave

Nashville, TN 37212

$2,300,000

This Hillsboro/West End property was built in the ‘20s, so it’s a different animal in that sense. But the top-to-bottom renovation took a similarly style-forward approach, with just a bit more vintage/farmhouse warmth. A pool’s not already in place here, but there’s space for it — and on the space front: more than 7300 square feet of home.

Any of these homes feel like your perfect fit? Looking for something a little cozier, or more expansive? Whatever your Nashville-area dream home looks like, I’d be thrilled to track it down. Call or email TJ Anderson Homes here, and tell me about what you’re envisioning.
