Nashville Area Homes All Set Up For Holiday Entertaining
by TJ Anderson
On Thanksgiving weekend, I have entertaining on the mind — one of the things that made me completely fall for my Nashville home was that it was set up for family gatherings and entertaining friends. Useful around the holidays, for sure.
If you haven’t found the right place in Nashville — something that’ll accommodate your large family on Thanksgiving, or your big crew of friends for Friendsgiving hangs — I can definitely help.
For starters, let’s focus this week’s Open House roundup on a few Nashville-area homes on the market that have excellent entertaining space, and that are hosting Open Houses this weekend.
First, the broader options:
Then, some picks:
679 Candlestick Dr
Nashville, TN 37211
Great renovation job on this midcentury Candlestick Farms home — you have lots of prep space in the kitchen, opened right up to the living/dining area, so whoever’s manning the turkey isn’t pulled away from the action. Quality classic finishes in the rest of the house, too, including lots of cool custom tile work in the three baths. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
2044 Albatross Way Lot 1096
Gallatin, TN 37066
Brand new construction in one of the Nashville area’s best golf communities, this large 4-bed, 3 1/2-bath home has a great layout for entertaining — wide open main space, with a gas fireplace in the living room right off the spacious kitchen. Plus a valuable bonus for families with teens: a huge unfinished basement that could be turned into a 1,400-square-foot hangout space they’ll never want to leave. Open Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
1142 Cahal Ave
Nashville, TN 37206
Looking for a historic home in East Nashville that’s already been renovated, and ready to host your holiday hangs? This large 1899 charmer is more than worth a look. The upstairs lounge is exceptional, with high style, high comfort and lots of room to mingle. The covered porch right off the spacious kitchen makes entertaining easy, and the original fireplace in the dining room makes the space cozy and charming as can be. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
6411 Arden Ct
Brentwood, TN 37027
This Brentwood beauty has no shortage of entertaining spaces inside and out, including a stunning sitting room with double french doors leading out onto a beautiful patio. Definitely a favorite though: the huge media room with a warm reclaimed wood feature wall, bar and an attached bath. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
3801 Harding Pl.
Nashville, TN 37215
There’s total Southern elegance throughout this 4,332-square-foot home in Green Hills, and ample entertaining space for just about everyone. Inside: beautiful sitting areas galore. Outside, a decked-out outdoor kitchen with a big and beautiful brick fireplace, and what looks like a mini Ninja Warrior training setup among the acre-plus of treed property. There’s also space for literal entertaining — check out the den with its little performance area set up, stage curtains already in place. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
