Things I love: my family, Nashville real estate, and the Nashville Predators. Mostly in that order.

Obviously, I'm a little bummed after Dallas ended the Preds' playoffs potential this week. But I'm soothing that mood by looking at beautiful homes for sale in Nashville with clients. Related, as it happens: The Nashville Business Journal recently reported that monster Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne snagged a new home in Nashville neighborhood West Meade.

It's a catch, fittingly enough, with 6 beds, 4 1/2 baths, nearly 5,000 square feet of interior space on two acres of land, and lots of modern style. MLS photos show Pekka's place as being full of sleek design and sunlight, with near-walls of windows at almost every turn. The home is about two years old, and, at least at its initial listing, was decked out with an appropriate amount of crisp and clean white finishes for a guy who spends an inordinate amount of time staring at ice (and will have a bit of a break from that coming to him).

Personal favorite part of Pekka's (purported) place: the outdoor entertaining space, looking out over the acreage and with glass railings that maximize the beautiful view.

The 37205 zip code is one of the wealthiest in Nashville — just behind 37215, according to American City Business Journals — so you'll find a healthy share of beautiful, expansive estates in the area.

Belle Meade is generally considered the central concentration of tony Nashville homes in that zip code, especially old-money ones. But West Meade certainly bears some beauties, particularly if you're looking for something on the newer side.

Below, a few homes in the West Meade area that'll offer the kind of upscale appeal, space and location that reportedly drew in one of the Predators' prized players.

A little smaller than Pekka's place, at just shy of 4,000 square feet inside and a little over an acre outside. But every bit as full of modern, upscale flair, with smart use of geometric woodwork and creative tile choices that bring in warmth and personality.

Right around Pekka's purported budget, this brand new construction feels a little more traditional in decor and design. And if you prefer not to have to tend to a large piece of property, this is a lot more manageable, at about a third of an acre. There's still a solid way to enjoy nature, though, from a comfortable spot: The home's screened porch has a beautiful built-in fireplace that'll make it the MVP on fall nights.

About to start looking for a high-end home in East Nashville? A starter home on the south side of town? A bigger family space in Franklin? Whatever your Nashville home needs might be, I'd love to help you find the perfect place. Browse some Nashville homes for sale here, and call or email TJ Anderson Homes here.
