The cooler weather we’re having brings one thing to mind: fall nights by the fire with friends, family, maybe s’mores, maybe a cup of something warm or glass of something warming.

So as I was looking through the weekend’s Open House offerings in Middle Tennessee, I thought we might pick out some homes that offer perfect opportunities for nights by the fire, inside or outside.

First, the big Open Houses picture:

816 GWYNN DR

NASHVILLE, TN

$398,900

An adorable stone cottage just north of all the things to do (and eat) in East Nashville, with a living space that just beams cozy. The cute fireplace is key, though the snuggly sectional doesn’t hurt either. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

1411 14TH AVE S

NASHVILLE, TN

$499,000

Looking for something a little more sleek for your wine-by-the-fire nights? This new construction in Belmont-Edgehill offers sophisticated, open design throughout, including the cool, contemporary fireplace. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

1712 CHAMPIONSHIP BLVD

FRANKLIN, TN

$835,000

Westhaven is one of the most charming, family-friendly corners of already charming and family-friendly Franklin, and this 4-bed, 4-bath home is perfect for family togetherness, with a gourmet kitchen open to a living area with a welcoming fireplace and built-ins for must-have growing-family storage. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

4104 KATHERINES BR

ARRINGTON, TN

$965,000

The French cottage feel of this large Arrington home is as unique as it is appealing, from the exterior shutters to the cute kids’ bedroom loft and the weathered-look kitchen cabinets (a cool complement to top-of-the-line appliances). My favorite part: the outdoor entertaining area. That fireplace is beyond perfect for the crisp fall nights we have coming. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

Warm feelings toward any of these homes? Have something else in mind? Let us know — we’d love to help!
