There’s no getting around it: Along with the storms this past week, we’ve been hit with the beginnings of the annual Tennessee-summer visitor you might call “oppressive humidity.”

If you’re new to Middle Tennessee: That sticky, soupy air comes and goes from late spring to early fall, but throughout the summer, it kinda comes more than it goes, and tends to be a tad uncomfortable.

I can only offer two solutions to that discomfort: air conditioning and a pool. Most homes in Middle Tennessee are mercifully equipped with the former. If you’re hunting for a home with a pool, you’ll do just a little more searching, but there are some great options out there.

For this week’s Open Houses roundup, I focused on some homes open this weekend that have great pools to cool off in this summer.

For starters, here’s the bigger picture of Middle Tennessee Open Houses this weekend:

And a few Open Houses in both counties that offer the opportunity for a refreshing dip (just... probably not during the Open House):

MADISON

{mls: 1638246}

653 Hidden Acres Dr.

Madison, TN 37115

 $374,900

Madison continues to grow in desirability for a lot of reasons — close proximity to East Nashville, good-sized lots, affordability… You’re a bit more likely to find a pool in Madison than East Nashville, too, and this 5-bed, 3-bath home has a great one, along with a covered patio perfect for breaks from swimming. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

FRANKLIN

{mls: 1638393}

343 Sterling Park Terrace

Franklin, TN 37069

$529,900

The custom colors in this 4-bed, 3 1/2-bath home in Fieldstone Farms remind me of a warm and homey Italian villa. The crystal-blue kidney-shaped pool — flanked by beautiful landscaping and hardscaping — reminds me of a relaxing resort. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

BRENTWOOD

{mls: 1636119}

9202 Sheridan Park Ct.

Brentwood, TN 37027

 $969,900

Not only does this 5-bed, 5 1/2-bath Brentwood home have a big, beautiful pool with lots of space for enjoying the sun — it also has a huge and hugely well-appointed outdoor kitchen. This one’s for the entertainers. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

BRENTWOOD

{mls: 1637643}

6012 Belle Rive Dr.

Brentwood, TN 37027

 $995,000

With more than 6,000 square feet of living space and more than an acre, this Brentwood home is spacious inside and out. And the outdoor living space is more than worth a long look — meticulously manicured landscaping, a large deck with a cute patio underneath, all just off a beautiful L-shaped pool. (The poolside basketball hoop might be negotiable.) Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.

BRENTWOOD

{mls: 1633386}

146 Rue De Grande

Brentwood, TN 37027

 $655,000

Where are my golfers at? A unique Brentwood home on the 17th tee with a cool courtyard entryway and a private pool retreat. Open Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
