Last week, after the news of a possible light rail line on the way, I focused our weekly Open House roundup on East Nashville.

This week, seems logical to go west, young man (and woman).

West Nashville neighborhoods like The Nations and Charlotte Park might not get quite as much national press as the East Side, but they’re buzzing all the same, and no one expects things to slow down. Just this week, we heard about East Nashville craft brewery Southern Grist expanding to The Nations, while local coffee name Frothy Monkey landed a permit for their new place there. Those new places join a long, growing list of dining and shopping spots setting roots on the West Side of Nashville lately.

Feel like doing some West side exploring? First, I'd recommend the listing pictured above: 6203B New York Avenue is a Craftsman-style home in the heart of The Nations, built in 2016 and stunning throughout. We aren’t hosting an Open House there this weekend, but let me know if the photos catch your attention — we’d be glad to show you around.

Since this is my weekly Open House roundup, a few West Nashville Open House picks that should suit you, too, below.

First, the broader picture:

Then, my picks:

ROBERTSON/WEST NASHVILLE

{mls: 1813777}

609 A Waco Dr

Nashville, TN 37209

$349,900

This one’s tucked between The Nations and Charlotte Park, and has some cool modern touches in the interior — concrete floors on the main level, industrial-tinged open shelving in the kitchen. Lots of other new construction homes surrounding it, too. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

SYLVAN HEIGHTS

{mls: 1823319}

4023 Elkins Alley

Nashville, TN 37209

$425,000

A bunch of new cottages just went up in Sylvan Heights, nestled next to Sylvan Park, and several are open this weekend, including this 2-bed, 2 1/2-bath single-family home. It’s emblematic of new Nashville builds in coveted neighborhoods, with high-end finishes and an open floor plan. The two-car garage and great location (close to lots of dining and a straight shot to downtown) are valuable bonuses too. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

THE NATIONS

{mls: 1822525}

5503 A Kentucky Ave

Nashville, TN 37209

$434,900

A new build just a few blocks off 51st in The Nations, with cool stacked porches, quartz countertops and a pretty great, shiplappy fireplace. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

SYLVAN PARK

{mls: 1823919}

116 37Th Ave N

Nashville, TN 37209

$775,000

Among the most up-and-come of West Nashville neighborhoods, Sylvan Park is charming and close-knit, with a mix of older homes and newer builds. This one’s among the latter, built in 2011 and well-appointed throughout. On the larger size, too, with 4 beds, 3 baths and almost 3000 square feet of space. Open Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

Is Nashville’s West Side calling to you? I’d love to help you find a perfect place to call home there. Call/email TJ Anderson Homes, and tell me what you’re looking for.
