Now that the ice has finally subsided, it’s starting to feel a little more palatable to get in the car and get out and about. Which is a good thing, if you’ve started hunting for a new home and Nashville turning into an ice rink put a bit of a pause on your efforts.

An even better thing: Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be in the 40s and 50s, which sounds absolutely balmy right about now. So if Open Houses are on your mind, this should be a great weekend to explore some homes. Curious about what your options are? Here’s a little help:

When I share local Open Houses on our blog every week, I also like to cherry pick a few that pique my interest for one reason or another. And after the past few weeks, I think cozy fireplaces are a pretty fine focus. So here are a few Middle Tennessee homes with Open Houses this weekend that are set up for cozy winter nights by the fire with a mug or a glass and the folks you love:

3010 Brisbane Court

Spring Hill, TN

This 5-bed, 4-bath home in Spring Hill has lots of well-appointed space, from a kitchen suited for a hardcore cook to a completely luxurious master bath. Bonuses: a fantastic stone fireplace in the living area, and another on a covered back porch that’s perfect for entertaining. Open Saturday noon to 4 p.m.

305 Walter Roberts St., Lot 77

Franklin, TN

Flex your imagination a little when perusing the in-process photos of this new construction in Franklin. The exterior exudes classic charm, and with 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and more than 3,200 square feet, there’s lots of room for family life. And you can see all the elegant details going into the interior, including beautiful built-ins and a fittingly classic-looking fireplace in the living area. Open Saturday 2 to 4 p.m.

9109 Macauley Ln., #376

Nolensville, TN

A cool mix of practical and fun perks in this 4-bed, 3-bath home in Nolensville: Energy Star appliances that’ll help you save on energy costs, a game room set for fun hangs; a guest suite perfect for visitors and a master with a sitting room that’ll give some luxury to you. Plus, of course: a clean and contemporary living fireplace that anchors a sun-drenched room. Open Saturday noon to 5 p.m.

So what do you think about these homes? Any of them on your list for weekend Open House hopping? Looking for something totally different? If you’re in need of help on your house hunt, I’d be honored to provide it — just drop me a line!
